Good At Things

I just discovered this new book by Andy Selsberg. I basically love anything in list form, but a published group of lists with an encouraging, funny message? Count me in. Some of the "skills" are funny (forcing people to acknowledge how adorable your baby's foot is), some are genuine (battling inner demons), and some are facetious (telling professional coaches what to do).

What are you good at? I'm good at handling throw up (TMI? Let's be real, I'm an early childhood professional and that's basically a qualification), watching the same movies over and over (ie The Dark Knight, Inglorious Basterds, and Dawn of the Dead), and giving late birthday gifts.

...those count right?

P.S. - While I was linking to Amazon, I discovered this book in the "More Search Results"...what a gem!

Agenda for the Week!

Well hello friends! Today marked the beginning of my personal Hell Week. Let me explain. Today, Tuesday: Final presentation for Child Development, book test over Friday Night Lights (fascinating book, by the way, less fascinating movie). Wednesday: Final presentation for Speech, group project paper due. Thursday: Final project due for Music, final exam for Child Health & PE. Friday: Final exam for Speech. Monday: Final project for Children's Science. Tuesday: Final exam for Texas History, final project (part 2) due for Music.

Whew. That's exhausting just to sit down and plan out. Anyway, hope you're having a good week, maybe send a few prayers my way just to ensure that I make it to Dead Day alive and all in one piece.

#1: 14,000 Things To Be Happy About

So, I've decided that this will be the first of an unknown number (I haven't decided yet) of posts purely devoted to the premise "Things To Be Happy About." That's that.

#1: 14,000 Things To Be Happy About (book)

I discovered this book last summer and it was a little pinpoint of light on rough camp nights. But the greatest part is on the inside!

Almost like a flashback to high school english. Except less grueling. Rex and I made notes and underlined the best ones and it's still entertaining to go through now. Barbara Ann Kipfer's list is hilariously quirky and genuinely happy.

Of course Rex's notes are my favorite. I felt this book was a good way to start off my own list of things to be happy about.

Hope you're all happy and healthy!

A Few Things

-My sweet friend Kathryn's donation page. The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation's key fundraiser; Kath lives in Denton and is participating in the Dallas Arthritis Walk in May. She's had Rheumatoid Arthritis for most of her life and is the sweetest girl in the world. So, if you're feeling generous, check it out.

-I found a new favorite clothing website. Adorable and affordable! Love this dress, and this crocheted sweater. And I'm obsessed with all things high-waisted, so these pants are next on my list.

-I just got Rainn Wilson's book Soul Pancake in the mail and I'm loving it so far. Who'd have thought good old Dwight Schrute was an author?

I hope you're having a great day!
