"For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'" - John Greenleaf Whittier

How To Be Smarter: If you want to learn how to cook, you start small. Green beans, macaroni, baked potatoes ... simple things. If you want to learn how to be a better student, you start small. To-Do lists, 15 minutes of extra studying, highlighting as you read. If you want to learn how to be a better friend/significant other, you start small. A "Good morning!" text, an unexpected compliment, an offer to help. Then work your way up.

How To Be Prettier: On wearing white after Labor Day. My favorite line? "It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it."

How To Be (Less) Awkward: A good way to mediate arguments without an actual mediator is to record them. Then, later, listen to it again. Everything is easier to discuss after you've both had a chance to settle down and get over hurt feelings.
